PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reproduce contents by synchronizing stream data from storage media with stream data from an network in real time. SOLUTION: A reproducing device and a data server 100 for content distribution are connected through a network 101 such as the Internet to form a reproduction system. A controller 12 of the reproducing device 1 measures the bit rate of the network 101 and requests the data server 100 to transmit data by a transmission quantity corresponding to the present bit rate of the network 101. Consequently, data from the network 101 can be reproduced synchronously with data from the storage media 2 in real time without being influenced by the bit rate of the network 101.
