PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the traveling stability of a vehicle by preventing unnecessary and excessive yaw moment from being applied to the vehicle when failure that braking force is not released is generated on a braking force generation device of any one of wheels. SOLUTION: The brake device for the vehicle has electric brake devices (14fl-14rr) for generating the braking force on the respective wheels according to a stepping amount of a brake pedal; and a control device (38) for independently controlling the electric brake devices of the respective wheels. The control device generates the braking force on the wheels at the side left/right-opposite to the wheel when the electric brake device of any one of the wheels is failed in the state that the braking force is not released (S804, 805).
