PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing control method of a dot line printer which minimizes increase in the cost of equipment and enables the equipment to fully exhibit its capacity by enabling a shift to a printing method including the process of lowering the temperature of a release coil only when the release coil is heated. SOLUTION: The average value of the frequency of driving a plurality of printing hammers per unit time is calculated, and in the case wherein printing is interrupted until a specified time when the average value exceeds a specified value, a specified value is changed according to the output voltage of a power source.
