The invention concerns an installation for active management of a sporting event running time between starting and finishing points. Said installation comprises clocking means ( 2 ) which are activated upon the athlete's passage, and which supply signals representing passage times, means for modulating/demodulating ( 3 ) the signals delivered, data acquisition and storage means ( 4 ) connected to the modulating/demodulating means through a network and comprising means for storing the sporting event running time, and terminal means ( 5 ) connected through Internet to the data acquisition, management and storage means, and which enable remote retrieval by the athlete of his/her running times and proposal of adapted training programmes.
