摘要 Data flows from a mobile router in a mobile network e.g. aboard a train are routed according to the type of traffic present in each data packet. Thus a first type e.g. browsing, e-mail, short FTP or peer-peer, is forwarded by a first route and a second type e.g. FTP, VOIP or streaming is forwarded by a second route. Using only one method of routing is not optimal for all types of traffic. Discrimination between types can be determined by typical transport layer connections required by the traffic. The first type of traffic requires shorter transport layer connection and can be route optimised by replacing the source address of the data packet by the address of an interface in the foreign network which the mobile router s currently attached. The second traffic type requires greater connection time and is routed via a NEMO-type bidirectional tunnel between the mobile router and its home Agent and hence indirectly towards its destination. This makes the mobility of the mobile router indistinguishable to the source. Where handover of the mobile router is imminent, a third routing may be used where the source address is replaced by the address of an interface in the new foreign network.
