Method for event detection in a telecommunications network

The method involves specifying an adjusted model on a data history, constructing a confidence interval, receiving data and applying the model to the data. Incidents are detected by observing difference between values of data and estimation given by the model and by evaluating whether the observed difference belongs to the interval or not. The incidents are filtered and sorted in utilizing an abnormality and severity index. An independent claim is also included for a system for supervising a telecommunication network.
