An injection molding machine and an injection molding method that are capable of preventing lowering of injection characteristics and improving quality of molded products. The injection molding machine has a cylinder member, an injection member advanceably/retreatably provided in the cylinder member, heaters arranged on the outer periphery of the cylinder member, temperature measuring sections arranged on places in the axial direction of the cylinder member and measuring temperatures of the cylinder member, a recording device (31) where a target temperature distribution range showing an optimum temperature range at each position of the cylinder member is recorded, and a control section for regulating a set temperature of each of the heaters such that the temperatures measured by the temperature detecting sections are in the target temperature distribution range. In the above, since the set temperature of each heater is regulated such that the detected temperatures are within the target temperature distribution range, a molding material in the cylinder member can be brought to an optimum condition.
