A flexible axis of rotation, for instance for hinged split connection of the ends of conveyor band with mechanical connectors, is arranged as flexible rope with system of flexible elements to which outer element and central rod are included, it is characterized in that the flexible external element is made as metal coil forming a shell into which thermo-plastic elastic central rod is installed, this fills the gaps between the turns of the coil and forms continuous structure, at that the pitch ofcoil winding is within (0-3.5)d, where d - diameter of the outer flexible element.
