A drive of round-knitting machine has an electric motor, a V-belt gearing, a toothed gearing, its driving pinion is installed on intermediate shaft coaxially with the driven shaft of the V-belt transmission, and the toothed wheel is installed on vertical drive shaft. At its ends cylindrical pinions are rigidly fixed. The drive is equipped with electromagnetic disc friction clutch.
