A method to use the pigmentation of hybrid seedlings of pears for creating red-fruit varieties includes using hybrid seedlings for a breeding assessment of test plants. The rejection of test seedlings is carried out not in the fructification period of the plants, but in the first year of their life directly in a nursery, if the red coloration of the leaves is present.
