A METHOD FOR THE APPLICATION OF PROTECTIVE SKULL ON THE LINING OF CONVERTER

A method for the application of protective skull on the lining of converter includes blowing the liquid end slag (or that additionally treated before the use) unoxidizing gas through the upper tuyere. In the course of blowing the height of the upper tuyere during the first minute is set at the level of 120-140 calibers relative to the surface of liquid slag in a quiet state and is left as such for 5-30 minutes. The upper tuyere in the process of blowing the slag is moved reciprocally in verticaldirection within the limits of 120-140 calibres. The upper tuyere in the process of blowing slag is diametrically moved from the left pin to the right pin and back. After blowing the slag the tuyere is drawn out from the converter, converter is alternately inclined 2-10 times at diametrically opposite sides at the angle of 90-130 DEGREE with keeping in every inclined position for 1-5 minutes.
