A METHOD FOR MAKING LIGHTWEIGHT REFRACTORY ARTICLES

A method for making lightweight refractory articles of increased strength and low water permeability includes preparing biological mass in the following order: refractory slurry is prepared in the mixer and mixed to obtaining stable suspension, thereafter hemihydrate gypsum is added being preliminarily mixed with aqueous solution of polymer, and the foam mass is mixed. The ratio of components in the gypsum mixture, % by weight: 99.80-99.98 of hemihydrate gypsum, 0.02-0.2 (per dry substance) of polymer aqueous solution. The obtained foam mass is closed in the shape, keeping therein shaped articles for 20-40 minutes with subsequent drying and burning-out. The method can be used for making industrial furnaces.
