A method of magnetic separation includes the supply of primary material to the surface of rotating separator drum, displacement of primary material in the magnetostatic field by rotating drum, separation of nonmagnetic particles by the joint action of gravitational and centrifugal forces followed by displacement of magnetic particles by rotating drum to the place of unloading. Furthermore, in the area, which is determined by line on the drum surface, which is located in 3-5 DEGREE of the turning of rotating drum from the line of separation of nonmagnetic particles, the material, which is divided, is subjected to the action of static pulse of increased magnetic field.
