PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a mold for continuous casting where the reduction in the strength of a sheet material is suppressed, and, is further prevented, thus stable quality can be maintained over a period longer than the conventional case. SOLUTION: In the method for producing the mold for continuous casting where a sprayed coating 12 is formed on the side of a contact face 11 with molten steel, of a sheet material 10 composed of copper or a copper alloy, constituting a mold body for casting the molten steel, and heating treatment is performed, while the cooling state at least of a meniscus part 13 in the sheet material 10 is maintained, the other parts are heat-treated. After the sheet material 30 is heat-treated, water cooling treatment is further performed at a cooling rate of≥10°C/s. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
