Precursor material for Bi-based oxide superconductor and process for preparing such material

A precursor material for the preparation of superconductors based on Bi2Sr2Ca1Cu2O8+delta wherein the precursor material which is as close to equilibrium state as possible, i.e., has less than 5% in average 2201 intergrowths in the 2212 phase; in particular, the present invention relates to a precursor material, which is converted to the final conductor by partial melt processing, as well as to a process for the production of the precursor material and the use of the precursor material for preparing superconductors based on Bi2Sr2Ca1Cu2O8+delta.
