<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new and improved proton conductor stable at high temperature, and especially, excellent in ion conductivity under high temperature and non-humidified conditions, as well as to provide a polymer electrolyte containing the proton conductor, a manufacturing method of the same, and a fuel cell using the proton conductor. <P>SOLUTION: The proton conductor has a hydroxy group at a terminal part, and an ether functional group at the position of α-carbon. Depending on the above structure, the proton conductor has not only thermal stability and is capable of operating at high temperature, but also is capable of providing a polymer electrolyte excellent in proton conductivity under a high-temperature non-humidified state. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
