<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus, with which proper sensation of operation is obtainable, both when the apparatus is open and when the apparatus is shut. <P>SOLUTION: A compound machine 1 is provided with an image forming unit 2, and an image read unit 100, which is connected by a first hinge shaft 11 to the upper part of the image forming unit 2 and is rotatable between a closed position, where a paper delivery tray 46 is covered thereabove and an open position where the paper delivery tray is opened thereabove. The image forming unit 2 is provided with a connecting link 161 having a guide groove 170, and the image read unit 100 is provided with a projecting part 192 to be fitted to the guide groove 170. The guide groove 170 has a first groove 171, with which the projecting part 192 is slid, while the image read unit 100 is operated to open and a second groove 181 with which the projecting part 192 is slid, while the unit is operated to be closed. If the configuration, provided with the grooves to be used exclusively, respectively in the open operation and the close operation is employed in this way, the free setting of the magnitude of the sliding friction that is produced in the projecting part is made possible. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
