<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inexpensively carry out language learning in listening comprehension suited to user's learning level and learning pace. <P>SOLUTION: A language learning system for carrying out language learning through a communication network 200 is provided with: a plurality of portable terminals 100 and a mail distribution server 300 connected with the portable terminals through the communication network. The mail distribution server 300 includes: a user information database section 302 for storing user's individual information, learning course, and learning pace registered from the portable terminal; a distributed learning information database section 303 for classifying a plurality of languages respectively into a plurality of levels, and storing a plurality of read-out sentences included in each of the classified levels; and a mail distribution control section 304 for reading, on the basis of the the user's individual information, learning course, and learning pace, the read-out sentence and distributing a learning mail to the portable terminals. The portable terminal 100 includes: a language learning mail storage section 109A for storing the distributed learning mail; a language learning speech composing section 110 for composing and converting the learning mail into speech signals; and a language learning control section 112A for making the speech signals composed and converted from the learning mail into a speech and reading it out with a loud speaker. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
