PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carbon fiber cord which has excellent adhesiveness to a rubber, has excellent fatigue resistance in the rubber, and is used for reinforcing the rubber, to provide its production method, and to provide a fiber-reinforced rubber material which can suitably be used for tires, belts, hoses or the like. SOLUTION: This carbon fiber cord for reinforcing the rubber, comprising one or more first twisted cords prepared by twisting carbon fiber bundles to which a resin composition containing a rubber latex is adhered, is characterized in that the outer most layer of the carbon fiber cord for reinforcing the rubber comprises a mixture of resorcinol-formaldehyde resin with a rubber latex; the cross-sectional flatness of the carbon fiber cord for reinforcing the rubber is 1 to 1.2; and a Gurley flexural stiffness is 1,000 to 5,000 mg.
