PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sealed battery and a manufacturing method thereof that ensure proper welding position and reliability of welding between a lid and a battery can even when there are positional variations, deformations, or dimensional variations of the battery can. SOLUTION: The sealed battery has marks 8a, 8b for position identification formed in a surface of the lid 3.
