PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reliably correct color cast with less processing load. SOLUTION: RGB image data is converted into a luminance Y and chromaticities C1 and C2, the highlight point and shadow point are obtained, and an axis l of a color solid connecting these points. The axis is subjected to rotational transform so that the axis becomes parallel to a luminance axis Y.
