PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a dust core material having a high strength. SOLUTION: Phosphate coated iron powder, silicone resin coated iron powder, or silicone resin-phosphate coated iron powder are compressively molded, and are then heat-treated to fabricate the dust core material. The heat treatment includes a primary heat treatment process of heating the molding at 451-600°C, and a secondary heat treatment process of heating the molding at 150-350°C which is conducted after the primary heat treatment process.
