PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connector capable of preventing a retainer held at a regular lock position from returning to a temporary lock position by being pushed by an erroneously inserted terminal fitting. SOLUTION: In the retainer 30, entry restriction parts 37 for restricting the entry of terminal fittings 10 into cavities 22 by projecting into the cavities 22 when the retainer 30 is located at the regular lock position are formed behind lock projection parts 36. Thereby, the entry of the terminal fitting 10 in process of being erroneously inserted when the retainer 30 is located at the regular lock position is restricted by running into the entry restriction part 37 before hitting the lock projection part 36. Accordingly, the tip of the terminal fitting 10 is preventing from hitting the lock projection part 36, and the retainer 30 can be surely prevented from returning to the temporary lock position.
