PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly perform deseaming to eliminate the effect of a scratch on a film by detecting the faulty desilvered state of the film and performing image processing. SOLUTION: A gradient a1 and a correlation coefficient r are calculated by executing single regression analysis for all pixels with a density component contained in an infrared image as the x-axis and an infrared component as the y-axis. A faulty desilvering ratio rto represented by a function including both the gradient a1 and the correlation coefficient r is calculated. The film is determined whether it is in a faulty desilvered state or not according to the magnitude of the faulty desilvering ratio rto, and when the film is in the faulty desilvered state, warning showing the fact is displayed.
