PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent fixing unevenness of a toner image by eliminating the unevenness of a nonuniform temperature rise distribution arising due to the influence of vibration nodes, in a heat fixing device of an image forming apparatus for resonating a vibration member through ultrasonic vibration to perform heating. SOLUTION: The heat fixing device for fixing toner on recording paper, by vibrating the vibration member extended in a direction orthogonal to a conveyance direction of the recording paper, thereby heating the recording paper is equipped with a vibration control means for vibrating the vibration member. The vibration control means is constituted to generate stationary waves in the vibration member and to change the frequency of the stationary waves to be applied, in order to make the vibration member vibrate.
