PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a luminescent ornament demonstrating an unprecedented aesthetic impression. SOLUTION: The luminescent ornament includes a composition containing a luminous material, a water-absorbing polymer, and water. Of the composition, the water-absorbing polymer absorbs water to form a gel-like material and contains the luminous material. The luminous material may be a substance containing aluminum oxide, strontium oxide, and europium oxide.
