PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber fixing tool and an optical connector in which positional accuracy of a positioning section and a polarization plane is greatly increased and which is easily and highly accurately assembled without requiring a large scale device. SOLUTION: The optical fiber fixing tool comprises: a ferrule in which a coated optical fiber is held in a small hole; a holding member in which a through-hole is provided, the rear end part of the ferrule is engaged with the through-hole and an optical fiber coating section is held, a flange in which an inner hole is provided and the holding member is inserted into the inner hole; and a screw joining member which fixes the flange and the holding member, wherein a first locking section formed of a recessed section or a projected section is disposed on the surface of the holding member, and a second locking section formed of a projected section or a recessed section and engaging with the first locking section is disposed on the flange.
