PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner and a control method for the air conditioner capable of preventing the occurrence of defects caused by heating a compressor, and preventing the increase of a manufacturing cost. SOLUTION: The air conditioner has the compressor 17 compressing and delivering a refrigerant; radiators 9, 23 for radiating the heat of the compressed refrigerant; throttle parts 11, 25 for reducing the pressure of the refrigerant which radiated heat; heat sinks 9, 23 allowing the pressure-reduced refrigerant to absorb heat; and a control part 37 for regulating the flow of the refrigerant passing through the throttle parts 11, 25. The control part 37 regulates the refrigerant passing through the throttle parts 11, 25, and allows the refrigerant in a gas-liquid two-phase state to flow into the compressor 17 from the heat sinks 9, 23.
