PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow easy removal of paper jammed during carriage and improve the positioning accuracy of a register roller in the state that a belt is tensed. SOLUTION: The register roller 14 and a register front roller 40 are connected to each other to be driven via the belt 48. When the register roller 14 is lifted up, a tension roller 50 is also lifted up to weaken the tension of the belt 48, thus allowing easy removal of the paper and improving the positioning accuracy of the register roller 14 in the state that the belt is tensed.
