PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To carry a disk into and out from a disk driving part without making a flaw having an adverse affect to the reproduction of recorded information on the disk. SOLUTION: This disk carrying mechanism 10 carries the disk in and out from a drive unit 4 (disk driving part) comprising a turntable 8 rotating the disk D. The disk carrying mechanism 10 is provided with a slider 11 reciprocating straight in a carry-in direction L1 and a carry-out direction L2 of the disk within the drive unit 4. The slider 11 comprises an sandwich-holding means 22 for sandwiching and holding the outer periphery part of the carry-in side of the disk D. Then, the disk D with its outer periphery part on the carry-in side held by the sandwich-holding means 22 is moved in the carry-in direction L1 and the carry-out direction L2 accompanying the slider 11, so that the disk D is carried in and out.
