PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information processing system and an information processing method which are capable of retrieving an objective scene while supporting recollection. SOLUTION: An information processing system 1 includes; a retrieval request accepting part 42 which prepares a plurality of miniatures for designating event information and an operation area for operating the miniatures and accepts a retrieval request in a form of arrangement of miniatures on the operation area; a retrieval conditional expression generation part 43 which generates a retrieval conditional expression on the basis of the arrangement of miniatures on the operation area; a retrieval part 44 which retrieves a prescribed scene from a video of a conference in accordance with the generated retrieval conditional expression; a retrieval result presenting part 45 for presenting a retrieval result of the retrieval part 44; a conference database 30 which manages the video of the conference together with event information occurring with passage of time of the conference; and a recollection support part 46 which refers to data in the conference database 30 to present a candidate being a key to input of a retrieval request, on the basis of the retrieval request which the retrieval request accepting part 42 has accepted.
