PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dishwasher capable of preventing the operation while the seal between an upper or lower door body and a front opening is incomplete. SOLUTION: The dishwasher comprises a body 7, a washing tub 8 with a front opening 9 in the front, mounted inside the body 7, the upper and lower door bodies 10 and 11 for opening/closing the upper and lower parts of the front opening 9, an interlocking part 30 for interlocking the upper and lower door bodies 10 and 11, a magnetic body 38 disposed in at least either the upper door body 10 or the lower door body 11, and a magnetic force detecting switch 40 disposed in a front frame part 39 for detecting the magnetic force from the magnetic body 38. When the upper or lower door body 10 or 11 with the magnetic body 38 is not closed and the magnetic force from the magnetic body 38 is not detected by the magnetic force detecting switch 40, the body 7 is not operated. Accordingly, operation of the dishwasher can be prevented while the upper or lower door body 10 or 11 is not closed at a prescribed position. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
