PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum prevention device for a scroll compressor capable of preventing an inside of a hermetic vessel from getting in a vacuum condition by selectively making communication between a low pressure space and a high pressure space of the hermetic vessel by pressure difference between the low pressure space of the hermetic vessel and a compression pocket formed by a lap of a turning scroll and a lap of a fixed scroll. SOLUTION: The vacuum prevention device for the scroll compressor composed of the hermetic vessel 10 divided in the high pressure space H and the low pressure space L, the fixed scroll 50 in the hermetic vessel, and the turning scroll 60 meshing with the fixed scroll and turning, is provided with a communication flow passage F making communication between the high pressure space, the low pressure space of the hermetic vessel and the compression pocket, a slider movably inserted in the communication flow passage and making or shutting off communication between the high pressure space and the low pressure space of the hermetic vessel by pressure difference between the low pressure space of the hermetic vessel and the compression pocket, and an elastic support means elastically supporting the slider.
