A three dimensional (3D) object [A] is photographed from various angles by a digital camera [B] to obtain a series of 2D images. Characteristic features are extracted from the images and the coordinate positions determined. The computer [C] based system uses the data to create a 3D image of the object using an edge-detection-algorithm.
