A rowing boat has a hull with a bench for a rower who sits facing the direction of travel. The boat has oars left and right that pivot on rowlocks attached to the hull sides. The rowlocks allow for forward and back motion and dip/withdrawal motion. The oar root fittings (2) are coupled at a pivot point and by a T-shaped bar with handle.
