摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of driving voltage driver elements capable of protecting switching elements against short-circuit overcurrent even in an inverter device in which a current to a motor, that is, the output current from an inverter is increased only for a predetermined short time for the enhancement of the performance of the motor. <P>SOLUTION: The method is for voltage driver elements in an arm in which at least two voltage driving type switching elements (Q1, Q2) are connected in series. In this method, the following operation is performed: when the output current requirement of an inverter becomes equal to or higher than a predetermined current value, the gate voltage of a voltage driving type switching element that does not contribute to energization is lowered to a value lower than the gate voltage of a voltage driving type switching element that contributes to energization.
