<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a face image photographing device and face image photographing method capable of accurately determining whether there is a part showing reflection of illumination, flash, or the like in a photographed face image, and to provide the face image photographing device and face image photographing method capable of performing the processing speedily. <P>SOLUTION: The face image photographing device 1 comprises a photographing means 2 for photographing the face image of a subject Q, a face region extracting means 8 for extracting the face region from the photographed face image, a reflection detecting region setting means 9 for setting a reflection detecting region where reflection is to be detected from the extracted face region, and a reflection state detecting means 10 that detects the reflection based on a color component of a pixel of the reflection detecting region, and, when the reflection is detected, determines whether a predetermined processing must be performed based on the area of the pixel detected as reflection, the distance from an eye center position, reflection intensity or their combination. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
