<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small grain toner which has a small size distribution, and is excellent in various characteristics such as electrostatic chargeability and transferability and capable of obtaining high quality images with less scattering toner and generating fogging and also satisfying both low-temperature fixability and preservation stability, and provide a stable and efficient manufacturing method which can recycle organic solvents with waste solution processing less contaminating the environment, and an image forming method using this toner. <P>SOLUTION: This toner manufacturing method includes a step of dispersing a toner dissolved or dispersed solvent which is prepared by dissolving or dispersing a toner material in an organic solvent in a water based medium as a dispersant to form toner grains and removing this organic solvent from the dispersed grains. The toner material dissolved or dispersed solvent before forming the toner grains contains water of 10.0-200 mass% of the saturating dissolving amount of water in the organic solvent at 25°C. It is preferable that the solution dissolving or dispersing the toner material contains 1.0 mass% or more of water in the organic solvent before forming the grains. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
