<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent generation of inconsistency of a counter value when collecting the counter value, in a print log management system. <P>SOLUTION: Detailed printing result information is recorded in a counter of a printing apparatus 5 in each print job. A collection server 3 collects the counter value recorded in the printing apparatus 5 via a network 2. The collection server 3 records the collected counter value as a base counter value. When the counter value collected this time is the base counter value or above, a difference value between the counter value collected this time and the base counter value recorded in the preceding collection is calculated and recorded.
