<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data processing system in which a data transmitter and a data processor can perform the optimum data processing by confirming a data protection capability. <P>SOLUTION: The control part 16 of the data transmitter 1 inquires of the data processor 2 about a provided protection function. For that, the data processor 2 sends the information of its own data protection function to the data transmitter 1. The data transmitter 1 determines whether or not the protection function information satisfies the protection function required for data printing, and in the case of satisfying it, sets protection to data stored in a memory 34 and permits data transfer.
