<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new PLC (phospholipase C)-like protein playing an important role in a living body, a gene encoding the same, the use of the protein or gene as a medicine and a method for screening a compound regulating the expression of the protein and gene. <P>SOLUTION: This new PLC-like protein is obtained from polynucleotides described in any of (a) a polynucleotide encoding a protein having a specific amino acid sequence, (b) a polynucleotide containing a coding region of a specific base sequence, (c) a polynucleotide containing a base sequence encoding a protein consisting of an amino acid sequence obtained by substituting, deleting, inserting and/or adding one or a multiple number of amino acids in the specific amino acid sequence and having a PLC activity, and (d) a polynucleotide hybridizing with a DNA consisting of the specific base sequence, under a stringent condition and having the PLC activity. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
