PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a file reproducing apparatus 20 calculating a time code of a present reproduction position in a file to be reproduced including a header region and a data region succeeding it without measuring an actual reproduction elapse time and reduced in errors. SOLUTION: A reference address storage means 21 stores an address of the head of the data region of the file to be reproduced as a reference address. A present address detecting means 22 detects an address of the present reproduction position in the file to be reproduced as the present address. A difference system time code calculating means 23 calculates the time code of the file to be reproduced based on a difference between the present address and the reference address.
