PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus enabling reduction of an overall memory capacity. SOLUTION: In the image processing apparatus for generating print data by converting the resolution of an input image data into a predetermined recording resolution, there are provided a recording resolution set section for setting one recording resolution out of a plurality of recording resolutions, including a recording resolution having two or more different recording resolutions of the same aspect ratio; a multi-tone data generator for generating data of multi-tone representation by converting the resolution of the image data according to the set recording resolution; a halftone processor for performing halftone processing on the data of multi-tone representation; and a data output section for outputting print data according to the processed data. The halftone processor includes a module for performing different halftone processing on the basis of each aspect ratio of the plurality of recording resolutions, and performs halftone processing using the module selected corresponding to the aspect ratio of a set recording resolution.
