PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provided a recording and reproducing device that can facilitate the operation for setting reserved video recording of contents and relate a plurality of recording media to each other, when a series of relevant contents (e.g., a series of TV programs) are recorded to the plurality of recording media. SOLUTION: In reserved video-recording setting processing, "reserved video-recording setting information" is recorded on a disk (step 320), and in next and succeeding reserved vide-recording setting processing, the "reserved video-recording setting information" is acquired from the disk (step 313) and is used to perform reserved video-recording processing (step 311). When the disk is replaced (step 309), the disk ID of a new disk and the disk ID of the old disk are recorded to the old disk and to the new disk, respectively and the "reserved video-recording setting information" is taken over and recorded to the new disk (step 308 and step 310), to facilitate the operation for reserved video-recording setting and relate the plurality of disks to each other, even when the medium is replaced.
