PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wavelength selective absorption film and a wavelength selective absorption filter which have high and large absorption in the near-infrared region, selectively absorb neon light but have a high light transmittance in the other visible light region, undergo little change in the quality over time at high temperature and high humidity, and excel in light resistance. SOLUTION: The wavelength selective absorption film is obtained by laminating, on a transparent base film, a wavelength selective absorption layer mainly made up of of two or more near-infrared absorbing dyes including a diimmonium salt compound, a neon light cutting-off dye and a resin, wherein the wavelength selective absorption film has a transmittance at 400 nm wavelength of≤30%.
