PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce costs required for using an illumination unit for a game medium storage box and enhance display effect by the illumination unit for a game medium storage box. SOLUTION: The illumination unit (1) for the game medium storage box comprises the base part accommodated together with the game medium (2) into the game medium storage box (3) for storing a game medium (2) used in a game machine (25) and a luminescent component (6) arranged in the tip part. A tip-side component body (4) forming the tip part and a base-side component body (5) forming the base part can be separated from each other.
