PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic endoscope apparatus having a common constitution relative to scope parts of various types and lengths, reducing dispersion of signal characteristics and having high performance and uniform quality. SOLUTION: This electronic endoscope apparatus includes a scope body 109 having a narrow and long tubular insertion part 105 and a scope operation part 107 provided near the rear end of the insertion part, and a signal processing part 103 connected to the scope body part by a signal cable. The distal end 113 of the insertion part 105 is disposed with at least a solid-state image sensing device 117, an optical system 115 forming an object image on the solid-state image sensing device, and a digital signal processor 119 processing output signals of the solid-state image sensing device, an image output signal from the digital signal processor is converted into an optical signal and transmitted from the scope body to the signal processing part by an optical signal cable 111.
