The invention relates to a device which has been designed to enable a person to carry an umbrella without using his/her hands, thereby leaving the user's hands free. The invention comprises a belt (1) which is introduced into a groove in the device. The inventive device consists of an inner case which is equipped with holes for receiving respective studs from an outer case (3) and an outer case (5) which is coupled to the inner case using a coupling mechanism comprising three studs (7). The aforementioned studs can be uncoupled in order to rotate the outer case (5) downwards such that the folded umbrella is supported as it hangs from the belt when not in use. The upper part of the outer case (5) is equipped with a cavity (6) into which the lower shaft of the handle of the umbrella (8) is introduced and a button (20) which is disposed next to the cavity and which is used to release the handle from the cavity automatically. In addition, the shaft is provided with another button (9) which is used to extend the handle and to open the umbrella. The handle can be extended to three different lengths, depending on the height of the user. The handle contains a semi-rotating mechanism which is disposed between the two shafts (11) and which can be used to change the position of the canopy depending on the direction of the wind or rain. The upper shaft of the handle (10) is equipped with two or more hoops (12) which are used to connect a pulley (16-18), the other end of which is connected to a hoop provided on the device (4) (optional).Optionally, the wires of the hinge (13) are extended to join corresponding wires adjacent to the canopy, between five to seven centimetres from the edge of the canopy and almost on the periphery (14) thereof, in order to prevent the canopy from being overturned in strong winds. |
