A composite material comprising a charge transfer complex of a tetracyanoquinodimethane (TCNQ) molecule of general formula (I), a binder substance and an isoalloxazine molecule is provided, in which the TCNQ molecule of general formula (I) is represented by Formula (I); in which R is represented by H, (C<SUB>1</SUB>-C<SUB>6</SUB>) alkyl, halide, cyanide, nitro, nitroso, amino, sulfonyl, thiol, sulfonate, silanyl, sulfate or (C<SUB>1</SUB>-C<SUB>6</SUB>) alkyl substituted with one or more of these functional groups or substituted by one or more electron donor compounds including: tetrathiafulvalene (TTF) in which the sulfur atom is optionally replaced by O, Se or Te, N-methyl-phenazinium, hexamethylene-tetratellurofulvalene, tetramethylammonium, methyltriphenyl-phosphonium, methoxytrifluoro- phosphonium, methoxytrifluoro-methylphenylacetic acid, hexamethylene- tetrathiafulvalene, ethylenedithio-tetrathiafulvalene (BEDTTF), BTP. Such materials may be used in the composition of electrodes. |
