The invention relates to a warehouse (1) for transferring goods and a method for operating said warehouse for goods to be handled (9), which are located preferably in divided storage and transport containers (8), comprising at least two storage areas (5, 7) for groups of goods being handled with various frequency. Said warehouse comprises a goods arrival area (2), a goods departure area (6) and at least one commissioning area (4). Conveying devices (10) include, for example, conveyor belts, roller conveyors, storage and retrieving means (12) such as, for example, shelf storage and retrieval units. Storage devices include, for example, high-shelf storage units, flow shelf storage units etc. Moreover, data input and output devices (26) are provided at workplaces (18) which are communicationally connected to a warehouse control and monitoring device (25). The conveying devices (10) provided at the goods arrival area (2) and at the commissioning area (4) are configured as continuous conveying devices (14, 16) which are connected to each other via conveying means (15) and are further connected to the storage and retrieval means (12). Detection means (23), e.g. data scanners (24), for the detection of data associated with the storage and transport containers (8) are communicationally connected to the warehouse control and monitoring device (25). |
